PRESS RELEASE
A young Thames Valley lawyer has raised over £1000 for charity by completing a gruelling mountain trek across Cuba.
Louise Smyth, 26, who qualified recently with solicitors B P Collins and now specialises in employment law, has just returned from the 100km, ten-day adventure, which she completed with nine other walkers, each hoping to raise money for their own charitable cause.
Louise's grandfather recently received the all-clear, having been diagnosed with prostate cancer last year, and she joined the trek to raise money to support the work of The Prostate Cancer Charity.
"Raising money for prostate cancer research was of course my main goal and a cause very close to my heart. But I also wanted to do something that would test me personally. The 30 degree temperatures, steep mountain ledges and wobbly rope bridges certainly did that! Thankfully, an old school friend came along on the trek to lend moral support and I've been overwhelmed by the sponsorship support I've received from my colleagues at B P Collins."
