PRESS RELEASE

Top tips for businesses on not only surviving the recession but coming out of it stronger and better equipped for the future, will be on the agenda at a special seminar hosted by B P Collins at its offices on Friday, July 17.

The free event, held in partnership with Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, will be headlined by Richard England, an experienced business coach and partner and director of Shirlaws UK, the leading international business coaching company.

Entitled Thrive not Survive, the seminar is designed to provide a fresh perspective on the current market and how to ‘read it’, and will cover key points on what businesses should be doing to adapt in a recessionary climate.

Topics will include:

• How to achieve your business vision through an economic downturn

• Five key growth strategies and how to apply them

• How to improve the efficiency of your resources to support growth

James Hay, corporate business manager at the Chamber, said: “With the current economic downturn, it’s important that businesses seek advice and support from the experts. This seminar promises to deliver strong, commonsense information on the steps businesses should – and shouldn’t – be taking to ensure their future success.

“We want to encourage as many Chamber members, and other local businesses, as possible to attend what we believe will be a valuable session and, as always, it will be an excellent opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals.”

The Thrive not Survive seminar has already proved a hit with audiences across the UK, Australia and the US and, most recently, was delivered at a joint event between Shirlaws and B P Collins, at the latter’s offices.

One of the attendees, Nick Grecian, managing director of international event suppliers Gallowglass, couldn’t rate the event highly enough.

“Richard England from Shirlaws not only demonstrated that he understood business (and wasn’t purely a marketing man) but he also had a good grasp of more complex analytical tools and how to communicate them… it prompted me to go back and take a fresh look and our current business model and make what could be very telling tweaks. I’d recommend it to anyone,” he said.
