NLA hosts first national conference for landlords
07 October 2008
The National Landlords Association (NLA) is to hold its first ever national conference in Birmingham next month.
Held at Jurys Inn on Saturday November 29th, the conference's central theme is Operating in Today's Market: Future Prospects for Landlords.
Among the guest speakers will be parliamentary under secretary of state at Communities and Local Government Iain Wright MP and Andrew Heywood, deputy head of policy at the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
The conference will touch on a variety of topics, including possession proceedings, local housing allowance and sale and rent back schemes.
David Saulsbury, chairman of the NLA, said landlords would benefit from being able to hear from the "array of decision-makers and experts" attending the event.
"Whether a landlord is just dipping their toes into an anxious market or has been managing a large portfolio for years, the national conference has something for everyone," he remarked.
The NLA currently has 13,000 members on whose behalf it lobbies the government in order to achieve a "fair legal and regulatory environment" for landlords.
