08 July 2008
The internet registry for .uk domain names has announced changes to its dispute resolution service which will come into force later this month.
The Lawdit Reading Room reports the amendments will arrive on July 29th and are geared to save time and money for complainants in undefended dispute resolution service cases.
According to the site other rights include descriptive rights where descriptive domains have secondary meaning and an additional likelihood of confusion factor related to abusive registration.
Nominet recently announced it will host an interactive workshop on key issues affecting the development and use of the internet.
The event will be a meeting of the UK Internet Governance Forum and will run on Friday 11th July 2008 at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London.
Nominet said the gathering will focus on topics "of importance to UK stakeholders, bringing together messages from the UK to take to the international debate on internet governance in Hyderabad in December".
