The UK Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO) has launched a new survey to find out about people's experiences of patent litigation.
Hosted by the Centre for Strategy and Evaluation, the questionnaire forms part of the UK IPO's review of the European Patent Court and how it may impact upon businesses in Britain.
The court is expected to have jurisdiction in all the countries involved in its creation and is intended to "reduce the need for parallel litigation in a number of countries and result in greater consistency of judgement".
Organisations participating in the short questionnaire are invited to give feedback on their experiences and the costs they encountered, as well providing information about the number of patents they presently hold.
Earlier this month, the UK IPO launched new guidance to help small businesses use their intellectual property.
The booklet included advice on how to conduct intellectual property licensing deals that are "productive".
